19125 Cleanup Tosses 200 Bags of Trash!

NKCDC and PBC employees hand out the goods

Last Saturday saw a stunning success in the 19125 Fall Cleanup, which united the NKCDC, the Fishtown Neighbors Association, the Olde Richmond Civic Association, and the East Kensington Neighbors Association with a day of community spirit.

Over 100 volunteers came out to remove more than 200 bags of trash from the streets of Fishtown and Kensington.  With the assistance of the City of Philadelphia and the Streets Department, debris from the cleanup was quickly collected before 1pm.

Of course, no Cleanup would be complete without the generous efforts of the Philadelphia Brewing Co., which provided a scrumptious post-cleanup BBQ at their HQ.  NKCDC and the community at large are greatful to the Bartons and the entire PBC staff for their hard work and their extraordinary hosting abilities.

The BBQ was also made possible by generous donations from Fishtown Beverage, Kissin’ Fresh Meats, Thriftway, and Dunkin’ Donuts

Thanks to everyone who came out!

More photos from the cleanup after the jump, courtesy of Miguel Rilloraza, who also participated in the cleanup.
